MC Services

Six corporate event formats. One MC who knows the brief.

Conferences, awards nights, galas, launches, fundraisers - every event has its own rhythm, its own room. Here's what I host and how each one is approached.

Six event formats

Choose the corporate MC service that fits your room.

01

Corporate MC Melbourne

The flagship offering - full-event hosting for Melbourne corporates and interstate companies running events in town. Run sheet ownership, stakeholder briefings, and a calm, audience-aware presence from open to close.

02

Conference MC

Multi-day, multi-stream programmes. Tight transitions, audience engagement between sessions, and a credible voice that keeps your speakers, sponsors and delegates on schedule.

Conference MC
03

Awards Night MC

The big one. Award category pacing, sponsor acknowledgements, presenter handovers, and the warmth a recognition moment deserves - without losing momentum across 20+ categories.

Awards Night MC
04

Gala Dinner MC

Black-tie, formal, often industry. Host duties across welcome, dinner, entertainment, speeches and auction - with a tone that reads the room and adjusts as the night progresses.

Gala Dinner MC
05

Product Launch MC

Brand-led, media-aware, often livestreamed. Building the moment, managing the reveal beat, and bridging marketing, exec speakers and demo segments so the launch hits the way it was scripted.

Product Launch MC
06

Charity & Fundraiser MC

Cause-led events where every bid, every story and every silent auction window matters. Auction support, donation moments, and the lift in the room when the night really matters.

The Approach

How a booking actually runs.

Same process across every event format. The depth varies; the steps don't.

01

Brief call

30 minutes on the event - audience, format, sensitivities, what success looks like. Usually the week of confirmation.

02

Run sheet

I work from yours or draft one with you. Every transition, every speaker, every cue gets a time and a voice line.

03

Pre-event

Walk the room, mic check with AV, intro check with speakers. The whole crew should know I'm a name, not a question mark.

04

On the night

I host. Tight transitions, warmth where it's needed, pace where it's needed. You watch the room land the way you wanted it to.

FAQ

Common questions about MC services

Quick answers across all service formats.

Which MC service is right for my corporate event?

It depends on the format and the room. A keynote-heavy conference MC brief is different from an awards night MC brief, which is different again from a gala dinner. Tell me the event type when you enquire — I'll point you to the right starting fee.

Can you cover multiple MC services in one engagement?

Often — many events are hybrids. A conference day plus an awards dinner. A product launch plus a gala. I'll host both segments with the same run-sheet ownership and pricing is bundled, not duplicated.

What's included in a standard corporate MC service?

A pre-event brief, run-sheet input, speaker introductions, host duties for the agreed event window, and on-night production support. Voice-over recording, scripting, or rehearsals run on top — quoted transparently.

Do you offer fixed-fee pricing or hourly rates?

Fixed fee, every time. Hourly stopwatch rates create friction when an event runs long. I quote a flat fee against an agreed scope so neither side is watching the clock at midnight.

Can you MC both formal and informal segments of the same event?

Yes — that's the bread-and-butter of corporate hosting. Formal awards moment, then a relaxed dinner segment, then a paddle raise, then close. The tone shifts; the host stays the same.

Do you take on weddings, private parties or community events?

Not under this brand. This site is for corporate MC services. For weddings and private celebrations John runs a separate practice — get in touch via the corporate enquiry form and I'll point you the right way.

Which MC services are most in demand in Melbourne?

Awards nights, multi-day conferences, end-of-financial-year events and Christmas functions are the biggest categories across the calendar year. Book three to six months ahead for Oct–Dec dates.
